Update 7/26/24

Thirty eight days post-op and we are done turning!!! We saw her plastic surgeon yesterday(7/25) and he is really satisfied with how everything is looking. He said her pin sites look super clean even though I keep questioning it because they are so irritated and scabbed up they just look like they wouldn't be classified as super clean. They're just super irritated and will be until removal. We will be scheduling the removal surgery for 6-8 weeks from now. Which puts us around September 5-19. She's really bummed she'll be starting middle school with it. But it's only for a week or two.

Below is a picture to show just how much she's moved forward. You can see that her ears aren't super low compared to the bridge of her nose anymore and they are so much closer to being lined up. Her glasses are going to need a major adjustment!

She turned 12 on the 23rd. She had 3 of her great friends over and we went bowling and came back and had her very first sleepover. She was never interested in sleepovers before because of her CPAP. But now that she isn't using one and is breathing beautifully she was all about it!

She got to go swimming for the first time since surgery and was really hesitant to stick her head in the water but she eventually went for it and had an amazing time!

She continues to eat pretty much whatever she wants and gets irritated with us when we try to cut up her food for her. She wants her independence back and has taken over cutting things up herself so she can be.
the halo is useful in many ways😂

We're going to just keep trucking along and I can't believe we're already half way through this process!!
